      • Triple Helix Cooperation

        Joint program founders consisting of government, private and university partners

         

        The completeness of the program is that it is formed jointly by 3 components of the Triple Helix consisting of government, private and university partners. This enables a complete ecosystem to benefits startups. The 3 parties are comprised of National Innovation Agency (Public Organization) (NIA), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Thai Union Group Public Company Limited (TU) and Mahidol University (MU).

         

        The National Innovation Agency of Thailand (Public Organization) [NIA] has a strong global connection with a wide variety of key players in startup ecosystem in many cities around the world, e.g. CVs, CVCs, leading corporates, startups, co-working spaces, incubators, accelerators, government agencies, and universities. NIA also has an extensive domestic, regional, and global access to financial, technologies, and new innovation business opportunities.

         

        The co-relating vision of TU, the Thai company that has become the leader in global seafood industry in seeing the opportunities and the significance in food innovation and FoodTech Startups. TU is a global seafood leader with ambitious growth goals and a dedication to sustainability and innovation. TU’s portfolio of brands includes convenient consumer favorites that have brought nutritious and tasty seafood to tables around the world for over a century.

        TU sees the importance of Innovation for sustainable growth hence, the company has invested a value of THB 300 million on it’s Global Innovation Center (GIC) which is built over 5,000 square meters. There are more than 40 doctoral degree scientists and over 120 researchers in the fields of marine biotechnology, engineering, medicine, food science and nutrition from around the world that work at the GIC, coordinating and exchanging knowledge and expertise in R&D and using the latest technologies to provide the best outcomes for consumers and the environment.

        Mahidol University has established its international collaborations that support the collaborative activities with various universities and institutes around the world. The university recently maintains the Memorandum of Understandings (MOA) and Memorandum of Agreements (MOA) signed with 434 outstanding universities/institutes coming from 46 respective countries in terms of research and education collaboration frameworks. The strong collaborative networks of Mahidol University with many institutions can empower both of research and academic operation in various scientific areas such as Data Analysis, Biological & Physical sciences, Biomedical, and Preclinical sciences, etc. These will help to enhance the mutual research advantages and provide professional advices to new innovators.
