AFTEA 2024, Asia's largest agri-food technology exhibition, recently concluded, bringing together a diverse array of innovations, technologies, and solutions shaping the future of food and agriculture.
SPACE-F Batch 5, a prominent startup accelerator and incubator program, showcased the ingenuity of 16 participating companies at AFTEA 2024. Several of these startups also competed in the Agri-Food Tech World Championship, a competition designed to identify and support promising food tech ventures. The competing startups demonstrated their innovative ideas, with an impressive 8 out of 10 teams advancing to the final round where they pitched their ventures to investors, securing valuable funding opportunities.
We're incredibly proud of Simon Davis, Founder of SEADLING (an alumnus of SPACE-F Batch 4), who won the competition and received a $10,000 prize. Congratulations also to Assoc. Prof. Kitiya Vongkamjan, Founder & CEO of UniFAHS, for achieving 1st runner-up! Both entrepreneurs and their companies are part of the SPACE-F program.
In addition to attending the exhibition, we organized several site visits for the participating startups. These included tours of Nestle Singapore, Innovate360 and Kerry Singapore. The startups also participated in product showcases and networking sessions with the Nestle team. Furthermore, they visited Kerry's Regional Technology and Innovation Center, where they had the opportunity to experiment with products and develop various formulas.
